ULP RO membrane is our top-selling energy-saving reverse osmosis product for light-salinity tap water projects, classified into Water Filter Element (RO & UF Membrane) series. Different from conventional BW high-pressure RO elements, this ultra low pressure reverse osmosis adopts ultra-thin high-permeability polyamide film, producing stable pure water under only 100psi feed pressure, greatly lowering pump power cost for small and medium water stations. For municipal tap water TDS below 2000ppm, energy saving RO can reduce system energy consumption by over 30%, without sacrificing salt rejection rate. Matched with standard UF membrane and High Flow Filter as pretreatment, ULP membrane forms low-cost pure water solution for factories, schools and residential water stations.

Working Principle of ULP Ultra Low Pressure RO Membrane

Under 0.69MPa low driving pressure, tap water flows tangentially over the surface of ULP RO membrane. High-permeability polyamide thin film allows massive water molecules to pass through into central permeate tube, while sodium salt, colloids and microorganisms are fully intercepted and discharged with concentrated water. The optimized membrane surface structure reduces water flow resistance, achieving high daily water yield without heavy high-pressure pump equipment investment.

FAQ About ULP RO Membrane

Q1 What raw water fits ULP ultra low pressure membrane?
A1 Special for tap water and light brackish water with TDS ≤2000ppm, not for seawater.

Q2 How much energy can ULP save?
A2 Compared with standard BW RO, system power consumption reduced over 30% under same water yield.

Q3 What pretreatment is required for ULP?
A3 Must equip UF membrane and high flow security filter to remove colloids and suspended solids.

Q4 Can ULP replace original BW membrane directly?
A2 Same outer dimension, can be directly installed in standard RO pressure vessels.
