Quartz Sand Filter for Raw Water Pretreatment

Overview

Quartz Sand Filter is an efficient pressure-type pretreatment filtration device specially developed for water treatment systems. This Quartz Sand Filter mainly consists of tank body, water distribution assembly, water collection assembly, filter media, external piping, valves and instrument sampling devices. During normal operation, raw water flows into the tank from the top inlet, and the baffle plate distributes water evenly. The water passes through the layered quartz sand bed, clean water flows out from the bottom collection system, while suspended solids, colloids, iron ions and organic contaminants are trapped inside the sand layer. When the pressure difference rises to the preset value, the backwashing procedure starts automatically. Backwash water or air-water mixed flow reversely passes through the sand bed, fully loosening quartz sand and scouring away intercepted dirt, and sewage is discharged out of the tank. The whole filtration and cleaning cycle runs automatically, with stable outlet water quality.

The filter effectively reduces raw water turbidity, intercepts particulate pollutants, and protects downstream ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis membrane elements and other precision equipment, ensuring long-term stable operation of the whole water treatment system.
