Overview

LEFILTER High Speed Shallow Media Sand Filter is an advanced high-speed shallow media water filtration device specially designed for large-flow water treatment. Different from conventional deep bed sand filters, it adopts optimized internal water distributor and water collector structure inside the tank. By filling different filter media including quartz sand, activated carbon and anthracite, the filter can efficiently intercept suspended particles, reduce water turbidity, and adsorb organic substances, residual ions and other pollutants in the water. This High Speed Shallow Media Sand Filter has a complete size range from 24 inches (500mm) to 96 inches (2400mm). It supports flexible modular combined installation. Multiple filter units can be connected in parallel on the main pipeline to achieve unlimited total filtration capacity to meet the demand of large-scale water projects. Three backwashing control modes are optional: manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic. The whole system is controlled by PLC, and backwashing can be activated by pressure difference signal, preset timing or on-site manual buttons. The factory default backwashing duration is 3 minutes and can be adjusted freely according to water quality conditions. It has obvious advantages of fast filtration speed, low pressure drop, compact layout and low overall engineering investment, which is widely selected for industrial water, circulating cooling water, raw water treatment, agricultural irrigation and many other water purification scenarios.

Q1: What filter media can be filled inside this High Speed Shallow Media Sand Filter? 

A1: Standard quartz sand is the most common medium for removing turbidity and suspended solids. Activated carbon is used to adsorb organic pollutants and remove peculiar smell; anthracite medium is also available for selection according to the actual water quality index.

Q2: What’s the difference between shallow sand filter and traditional sand filter? 

A2: High Speed Shallow Media Sand Filter works at a much higher filtration velocity, with smaller tank volume, modular combination design, less land occupation and lower pipeline construction cost. Traditional deep bed sand filter runs slowly and takes up a larger space.
