Basic Structure
Tank: Made of anti - corrosive carbon steel or high - strength fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), it has excellent pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, adapting to different water qualities and environments.
Filter Media Layer: Filled with refined quartz sand as the filter media, the particles are uniform in size. Through scientific grading, it forms a filtration barrier to effectively intercept impurities.
Water Distribution System: The unique large - flow water distributor ensures uniform water flow distribution, enabling each grain of filter sand to fully play its filtering role.
Control System: It supports both manual and automatic control modes. In the automatic mode, it can achieve intelligent operation of processes such as filtration and backwashing.
Filtration Principle:The water to be treated enters the filter from the top and passes through the filter media layer from top to bottom. Suspended solids, colloids, and other impurities in the water are intercepted and adsorbed by the quartz sand filter media. The filtered clear water is discharged from the lower water collector, achieving the purpose of water purification.
Product Advantages:Compared with traditional filters, the shallow sand filter features fast filtration speed, small footprint, and low backwashing water consumption, effectively reducing operating costs. It is also easy to maintain, making it suitable for large - scale water purification scenarios.
Filtration Stage
The water to be treated enters the filter through the inlet pipe and is evenly dispersed on the surface of the filter media layer by the water distribution system.
The water flows through the filter media layer from top to bottom. Impurities in the water are intercepted by the quartz sand, and the clear water flows into the lower water collector and is output through the outlet pipe.
Backwashing Stage
After the filter has been in operation for a certain period, as the impurities intercepted by the filter media layer increase, when the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet reaches the set value (or the preset operation time is reached), the backwashing program is triggered.
During backwashing, the inlet valve and outlet valve are closed, and the backwashing inlet valve and drain valve are opened.
The backwashing water enters the filter from the bottom and passes through the filter media layer rapidly from bottom to top, making the filter media fluidized. Impurities are discharged from the drain outlet along with the backwashing water.
The backwashing lasts for several minutes. After the filter media is cleaned, the backwashing - related valves are closed, and the normal filtration state is restored.

Industrial Circulating Water Filtration: Removes suspended solids, algae, and other impurities in circulating water, prevents pipeline blockage and equipment corrosion, and improves the utilization rate of circulating water.
Sewage Treatment Pretreatment: As the front - end equipment of sewage treatment, it intercepts large - particle impurities in sewage, reducing the load of subsequent treatment processes.
Landscape Water Purification: Purifies landscape water such as park lakes and artificial waterscapes, keeps the water clear, and inhibits algae growth.
Agricultural Irrigation: Filters out sediment, organic matter, etc., in irrigation water, avoids blocking drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation equipment, and ensures the healthy growth of crops.
Iron and Manganese Removal in Groundwater: Used in combination with manganese sand filter media, it effectively removes iron and manganese ions in groundwater, improving water quality.
Drinking Water Pretreatment: In small rural water supply stations or the pretreatment of drinking water in industrial production, it enhances the quality of raw water.
How is the backwashing frequency of the shallow sand filter determined?:The backwashing frequency is mainly determined based on the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the filter and the preset operation time. Generally, when the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet reaches 0.05 - 0.07MPa, or the operation time reaches 8 - 24 hours (adjusted according to water quality conditions), backwashing is initiated. When the water quality is poor, the backwashing frequency will increase accordingly; when the water quality is good, the backwashing interval can be appropriately extended.
What precautions should be taken when replacing the filter media?:Before replacing the filter media, the water in the filter should be drained first, and all inlet and outlet valves should be closed. The new filter media should be high - quality quartz sand with uniform particle size and few impurities, and it should be laid according to the specified filling height and grading. During the laying process, ensure that the filter media is flat to avoid uneven accumulation. After the replacement is completed, the initial backwashing is required to flush out the remaining impurities in the filter media before putting it into normal use.
The shallow sand filter, with its advantages of high - efficiency filtration, water and energy saving, and high automation, has become an ideal choice for water purification in many industries. Whether it is industrial production, sewage treatment, agricultural irrigation, or landscape water maintenance, it can provide users with stable and reliable solutions. Choosing our shallow sand filter means choosing an efficient, economical, and worry - free water purification method, providing strong support for various water use needs.
