BW30-400 Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Membrane | 8 Inch Industrial RO Element

Read 1 Reviews23 Q&As Write a Review
BW30-400 is a classic 8-inch high-flow brackish water reverse osmosis membrane element widely used in industrial water treatment systems. Manufactured with high-performance aromatic polyamide thin-film composite material, this RO membrane features a large effective membrane area of 400 square feet, delivering stable water production rate and excellent salt rejection performance under standard operating conditions. Instead of increasing water flux and working pressure blindly, the BW30-400 improves system throughput by optimizing membrane area, effectively reducing fouling tendency and maintaining long-term stable operation. It is universally applicable for groundwater, river water, tap water and lightly polluted industrial brackish water purification, serving as the most cost-effective standard RO element for municipal and industrial water treatment projects.

Product Overview

BW30-400 belongs to the classic BW30 brackish water RO membrane series, designed for general industrial desalination and water reuse scenarios. With standard 8-inch spiral-wound structure, this membrane ensures uniform water flow distribution and low pressure drop during continuous operation. Its balanced flux and rejection rate make it the most mainstream model for medium and large-scale RO systems. Compared with small 4-inch membrane elements, BW30-400 greatly improves single-unit water output and reduces overall system configuration costs. Advanced membrane surface treatment technology minimizes particle and organic adhesion, extending cleaning cycles and service life.

To meet different working condition requirements, the complete BW series product lineup includes all mainstream models: BW30-365, BW30-400, BW30-400FR, BW30-365FR, BW30-440i, BW30LE-440i, BW30XLE-440, BW30-4040, BW30FR-4040. Users can select standard type, anti-fouling type, low-energy type and different size specifications according to raw water quality, system pressure and water production demand.

Working Principle

BW30-400 reverse osmosis membrane adopts pressure-driven membrane separation technology:

1. Pressurized raw water enters the spiral flow channel of the membrane element.

2. The polyamide semi-permeable layer intercepts dissolved salts, colloids, suspended solids and microorganisms.

3. Pure water molecules penetrate the membrane layer to form qualified permeate water.

4. Concentrated pollutants are discharged with concentrated water to realize continuous water purification and desalination.

FAQ

Q1: What is the main application of BW30-400 RO membrane?

A1: BW30-400 is a standard brackish water membrane, mainly used for desalination and purification of tap water, groundwater and river water, suitable for most industrial pure water and water reuse projects.

Q2: What is the difference between BW30-400 and BW30-365?

A2: BW30-400 has larger membrane area and higher water yield than BW30-365, suitable for projects requiring higher water production capacity under the same equipment conditions.

Q3: Can BW30-400 be used for seawater desalination?

A3: No. BW series is only for brackish water. High-salinity seawater scenarios must adopt SW series seawater resistant RO membranes.

Q4: How long is the service life of BW30-400 membrane?

A4: Under standard pretreatment and normal operation, the service life can reach 2–3 years. Regular chemical cleaning can further extend the service cycle.

Q5: What causes flux decline of BW30-400 membrane?

A5: Common reasons include surface scaling, organic contamination, microbial slime and excessive SDI of inlet water. Timely cleaning and qualified pretreatment can effectively solve this problem.

Q6: Is BW30-400 compatible with all 8-inch RO pressure vessels?

A6: Yes. All installation dimensions and structural standards are universal, supporting direct plug-and-play replacement of mainstream brand 8-inch membrane elements.

Q7: When is chemical cleaning required for BW30-400?

A7: Cleaning is required when the normalized water yield decreases by more than 15% or the inlet and outlet pressure difference rises significantly, to restore membrane permeability and rejection performance.
