The structure of coalescing filter separator
The basic structure of jet fuel filter separator mainly consists of shell (cylinder), end cover (head), coalescing filter element (primary filter element), separation filter element (secondary filter element), primary and secondary filter element trays, inlet and outlet oil pipes, sampling port, safety valve, air release valve, drain valve, differential pressure gauge, rocking cover mechanism, heating device, etc. The jet fuel filter separator is a metal shell with two sets of filter elements with different functions installed inside, and the outer cylinder is equipped with automatic air release valve, drain valve, safety valve, differential pressure gauge, online sampling port, rocking cover mechanism and heating device and other accessories.

Basic principle of coalescing filter separator
Two sets of filter elements with different functions are installed inside the filter separator, the accumulation filter element (white) and the separation filter element (green). When the fuel flows through the filter, it undergoes four processes inside: filtration, coalescence, sedimentation, and separation. Jet fuel is injected into the first-stage tray of the filter from the inlet, and then dispersed into the first-stage coalescing filter element. Jet fuel flows out from the inside to the outside, first filtering out solid impurities through the filter layer, and then passing through the coalescing layer, tiny water droplets coalesce into large water droplets, and settle at the bottom of the filter to achieve oil-water separation; the oil flow then enters the secondary separation filter element from the outside to the inside, and the water droplets that have not settled in time are completely separated from the jet fuel by the water repellent effect of the separation filter element, and settle in the water collection tank and are discharged by the drain valve; the clean jet fuel is collected in the secondary tray through the separation filter element. The purified jet fuel is input into the aircraft refueling system from the filter outlet. According to the specifications of civil airports and military airports: before the airport uses the oil depot to the refueling joint under the wing of the aircraft, three types of jet fuel filter separator devices are generally used.
